- Hydrogen, fluorine, boron, and nitrogen incorporation in nominally anhydrous minerals and partitioning between minerals and melts
- Development of SIMS methods for light element analysis
- Equations of state, rheology and structure of minerals and melts at high pressure
- Mechanisms and kinetics of phase transformations
- Ultra-high pressure metamorphic petrology
- Development of high-pressure multi-anvil technology

- High pressure experimentation (multi-anvil, piston-cylinder, shock-wave apparatus)
- Spectroscopy (Infrared, Raman)
- Chemical microanalysis (extensive experience: SIMS, EPMA, SEM; familiarity with TEM, LA-ICPMS)
